The Southampton Youth Association enriches the lives of youth through recreational programs that expose them to fun activities, expand their community of friends and mentors and encourage them to make healthy decisions.

History

The Southampton Youth Association, affectionately referred to as S.Y.A., is a nonprofit organization that provides recreational services to local youth, during out of school time. It was established 52 years ago, in direct response to the negative impact that drugs was having on the youth of Southampton.  Since then, we have continued to create safe, fun, and healthy spaces where kids can be kids and develop strong character and leadership skills. 

It has also been our effort to create employment opportunities and be an advocate for young people.

Our Summer Recreation Program, sports clinics, art classes and all programming are successful because of an unwavering support from our community. We have successfully raised consciousness that “Sports Build Character and Brings Us Together”.
